Goodwill Industries of NEPA donates to Scranton School District

Scranton, Pa. – Goodwill Industries of Northeastern Pennsylvania (NEPA) recently donated $1800 to the Scranton School District as part of its Operation Back-to-School campaign. For two weeks in August, Goodwill’s customers made monetary donations in its stores to help local students successfully start the school year. Along with the generosity of Goodwill’s customers, the agency also made a monetary donation to the campaign.

“As a good community steward, we’re proud to support our local communities and appreciate the support of our customers,” said Kate Jones, Goodwill Industries of NEPA chief executive officer. “This gift shows the power of collaboration and the impact it can have on students and families.”

“We are so grateful to be the recipients of this generous donation and for community partners like Goodwill who continuously support the Scranton School District and our students,” said Dr. Erin Keating, Scranton School District superintendent. “Thank you to Goodwill for considering the Scranton School District for their donation as well as the customers who made monetary donations.”

Goodwill Industries of NEPA is a private, non-profit, community-based organization that has been serving the region for over 80 years and strives to strengthen lives, families, and communities, one person at a time.
