Everyone deserves the opportunity for a rewarding career. That’s why Goodwill has developed a number of re-entry programs that are specifically designed to help justice-involved individuals overcome any barriers to employment.
Re-entry Program
Goodwill’s Re-entry Program provides comprehensive employment and education services within Lackawanna County specialty courts. Our employment specialists collaborate closely with mental health and Treatment Courts’ health and human services providers and law enforcement personnel.
The goal is to help participants identify present and long-term employment goals, develop goal plans, maintain employment/education related compliance within the courts, and learn skills that will support their vocational future despite their criminal justice involvement.
Participants receive evidence-based career assessments, develop employment skills, and create long-term plans. Court participants also learn digital skills and earn nationally accredited NorthStar Digital Literacy certifications.
FSA Grant
Goodwill Industries of NEPA is a proud participant in the First Step Act Initiative which awarded federal grant funding through the
Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry to Pennsylvania Goodwill agencies across the state. The ReSTART Statewide Reentry
Program helps participants restore confidence and financial independence, successfully transition back to their communities, and
positively contribute to Pennsylvania’s workforce.
