Community Participation Supports

Through our Community Participation Supports program, we provide opportunities and support to individuals with intellectual disabilities so they can have an “Everyday Life.” Individuals work on daily life skills, employment opportunities, and community inclusion. Our trained staff develops activities that focus on an individual’s preferences, choices, and interests. We also offer employment opportunities by helping individuals build skills towards their personal goals.

Transportation may be provided with this service.

Who is Eligible?

Pennsylvania Office of Developmental Program waiver funded individuals.

Small Group Employment

Goodwill’s Small Group Employment Services provides support to individuals on the path to employment. While working side by side with an ACRE-certified Job Coach, participants gain additional support to develop the skills needed to seek employment in the community. Individuals earn a paycheck while participating in this service.

Who is Eligible?

Pennsylvania Office of Developmental Program waiver funded individuals.

Transitional Services

Our transitional services helps high school students with intellectual disabilities ease into adulthood by setting goals and planning
for their future after graduation. By focusing on their strengths, interests, and preferences, individuals are given opportunities and
experiences to move towards a more independent future.

Who is Eligible?

High school students with an IEP.

Employment Services

Goodwill’s Employment Services helps youth and adults with disabilities and the re-entry population overcome barriers to be successful in competitive integrated employment. We provide a variety of asssesment tools to help indviduals develop a work plan and provide support to help them obtain and maintain employment. Services include:

Work Assessments Our certified Employment Specialists collaborate with local employers for hands-on assessment to help
individuals identify and build their vocational skills, interpersonal skills, and develop appropriate workplace behaviors while keeping
their job goal in mind.

Career Exploration and Job Finding Individuals work with our certified Employment Specialists to complete vocational assessment,
employment short- and long-term goals, obtain an identification card and background clearances, create a resume, and participate
in a mock interview to work towards attaining and maintaining an appropriate and meaningful job.

Job Coaching and Support Our certified Employment Specialists provide one-on-one, on-site job coaching to the individual to help
with learning job tasks, adjusting to the work environment, and developing natural supports.

Ongoing Support At times, employed individuals will need assistance on the job. We provide various supports focused on learning
and re-learning tasks, identifying natural supports, and securing transportation.

Youth Employment Services Youth ages 14 to 21 can explore careers and gain skills necessary to join the world of work through a
variety of group and individualized services including classroom-based training focusing on self-advocacy, indpenednet living skills,
and individualized servicess. Indivdiualzed services are aviallbe an dthis program is specific to OVR particpants.

NorthStar Digital Literacy Training Asseses an indviduals’ basic computer skills and provides training and certifications to build
computer skills.

Who is Eligible?

Goodwill works with various organizations for funding of services including Office of Vocational Rehabilitation and Office of
Developmental Programs to determine eligibility.
