With the support of staff and peers, Joseph used the virtual CPS program to learn and practice American Sign Language with his friends. As he mastered one sign, he became determined to learn more. He quickly was able to improve his ability to communicate with others. Staff have noticed a much more social Joseph because of his new signing skill-set which has given him even more confidence. Richelle is engaged in her community, participating in a variety of activities including church services, bocce ball, and Area P Special Olympics where she competes in horseback riding, tennis, and bowling. She assists her mother with the preparation of holiday dances and is active with The ARC of Northeastern PA’s monthly activities. A volunteer with Meals on Wheels, Richelle also finds time to participate in multiple Community Participation Supports programs. She is very family-oriented and enjoys spending weekends at home visiting her parents and brother. At home, Richelle is extremely helpful around the house. She enjoys loading and unloading the dishwasher, keeping her room clean, and making her bed. Richelle also loves cookouts in the backyard and inviting friends over for lunch.

With an enthusiastic smile, Sarah greets coworkers, job coaches, and strangers alike. She’s giggly, spunky, and motivated to succeed. Sarah began participating in employment services with Goodwill prior to the 2020 pandemic shut down. After meetings and discussions, the team discovered that Sarah loves to spend time with her pets at home and loves helping others’ animals.
